This isn’t personal testing. With hundreds of products across dozens of brands, no single reviewer could try them all, and any site that claims otherwise is exaggerating. Every product on Invigare goes through the same four-step check before it’s allowed on the site.
1. A minimum review threshold
We only consider products with enough verified purchase reviews to mean something. A product with eleven reviews and a perfect five-star average tells you almost nothing. We look for a real sample size, across multiple retailers where possible.
2. A full read of the negative reviews
This is the step most “best of” lists skip entirely. Star averages hide problems. We read the one and two-star reviews in full, looking for patterns: does it not work for a specific hair type, does it cause irritation, do people report the packaging leaking, is there a recurring complaint that never gets addressed. A handful of unhappy customers is normal. A repeated, specific complaint is a red flag.
3. A check for quality-drop patterns
Formulas change. Manufacturers get bought out. A product can earn a strong reputation over years, then get reformulated or moved to cheaper packaging, and the reviews turn within months. We check review dates for exactly this: is the product still earning praise recently, or is the good reputation a few years old and starting to slip.
4. Independent cross-checks
We weigh what we’re seeing against sources outside the retailer’s own review section: Reddit threads, hair loss forums, and independent comparison write-ups. If a product looks great on Amazon but gets consistently torn apart on r/tressless, that’s worth knowing before you buy.
If a product clears all four checks, it gets a Verdict and a score. If it doesn’t, we leave it off the site rather than include it with a caveat buried in paragraph six. Products we’ve already rated get periodically rechecked, since reviews and formulas both change over time.
Our scoring reflects real-world buyer experience, not lab testing or a clinical trial. If you’re dealing with sudden or severe hair loss, get it checked by a GP or dermatologist, it can have underlying causes worth ruling out properly.
If you think we’ve missed something, or a product’s reviews have shifted since we last checked, tell us and we’ll take another look.
